Mohave County has an estimated 1,000 miles of fresh water shoreline with Dolan Springs at the gateway to Lake Mead, a beautiful 550-mile shoreline like offering many forms of water recreation.  Pierce Ferry Road, about 43 miles from Dolan Springs, is paved to South Cove toward the Eastern end of Lake Mead.  In addition to the area's water recreation, there are gold mines, rock hunting and the attraction from Las Vegas, Nevada.  Tour buses to the West Rim of Grand Canyon National Park are available daily.  The Hualapai Mountians' forested slopes, 40 miles southeast, offer picnicking and hunting.  One of the world's largest Joshua Tree Forests is located in the Lake Mohave Ranchos/Dolan Springs area.  Dolan Springs hosts a Dolan Days, "a rip-roaring Wild West celebration" each Labor Day Weekend.  Free information on Maps.
